Should this family commit to School A — before the fee deadline?
A family relocating to Dehradun asked us to compare two shortlisted schools (referred to here as A and B) for a child moving into secondary school. Names and identifying details are redacted; the structure and language are exactly what a real report uses.

On a working-day visit, School A’s morning drop-off cleared within 15 minutes; School B’s approach road (via ██████) was single-lane and congested past 8:15am.
The lane leading to School B floods to roughly ankle depth for about two weeks at peak monsoon, per three separate local residents.
Given the child’s exam anxiety and verbal strength, School A’s smaller classes and named counselling lead appear the stronger structural fit — though fit is a judgment, not a fact.
School B’s marketing states a “1:12 mentor ratio.” This could not be independently verified and was not evidenced on site. Treat as unconfirmed until shown in writing.
School A’s published fee schedule omits transport and a mandatory annual “development” charge that two current parents described. Budget could exceed the quoted figure by a meaningful margin.
Shortlist School A, but make the offer conditional on a written, all-inclusive fee schedule. Re-drive the School B route once during monsoon before ruling it out on access alone.

- Confirm School B’s ratio claim in writing, or set it aside.
- Book a follow-up consultation once the written fees arrive — we’ll finalise the recommendation.
